Deployment Features

Deployment - Module (*)

Easily install updates and add new functionality, create and manage packages and deploy changes to your magnolia servers without risk - thanks to the built-in uninstall.

Backup

Backup is possible through various means - either provided through the repository itself (CRX allows hot backup), or through the import/export mechanism, which can be scheduled through an external scheduler. In addition, the new packaging module allows to backupcontent, java classes, templates and static resources as a single package.

JSR-170 Java Content Repository

Magnolia uses the JSR-170 standard API to access its content. This makes content storage independent of the CMS and allows the usage of various implementations. Magnolia is delivered with an open source repository. For high end requirements, CRX - the leading commercial repository - is available as an option.

Unlimited scalability, clustering and load-balancing

The integrated publish & subscribe mechanism allows you to mirror your website to as many physically distributed servers as you want.

Caching

Magnolia has its own caching mechanism to increase speed and minimize CPU load. The cache is written on the file system and is automatically updated whenever needed. It is configurable by tree or by page.

Syndication and staging

The built-in publish & subscribe mechanism allows you to syndicate content easily to any other application which understands HTTP.

Logging with Apache Log4j

Magnolia uses standard Log4j logging. Its extensive customization options allow you to focus logs on your particular needs.

Runs with all major browsers

Magnolia works in all major browsers. Use the one you like best – not the one your vendor likes best.
